…a full two weeks into 2016 and all ready cancer has taken some very famous people. Sadly David Bowie, Alan Rickman, Lemmy Kilmister and René Angélil (Celine Dion’s husband) have all lost their fight to cancer. They’re not the only ones though, over seven million people die each year due to cancer and it’s sad to think that the big scary “C” word is getting more and more common to hear.
It’s alarming to think how almost everyone in the world will know someone with some form of cancer. Even more frightening that many types of cancers will go unscreened until it is too late.
Cancer is something that doesn’t discriminate. It doesn’t respect age, gender, race, ethnicity, social-economic status or life style. And I may come off selfish for using their names/celebrity status in this blog but I would hope that if they were alive or perhaps even their families would be ok with me reminding EVERYONE that it’s never to late to get screened or checked out.
Talk to your family doctor or if you’re looking for more information I’m including the link to the Canadian Cancer Society all you have to do is click on the name.
My deepest condolences and warmest thoughts for those who has lost someone to cancer ❤
